Campaign Contact Center Campaigns and Fundraising Initiatives
The Damien Center has created a solid foundation of service within Central Indiana through its years of community service and assistance.
Through the generosity of campaign individual donors and supportive organizations, we were successful in raising funds to purchase and renovate 26 North Arsenal Avenue. this accomplishment haisl as a first for the Center in building ownership.
However, our new location represents more than building ownership for the Center; it serves as an ever-present symbol within this community. A symbol hallmarking the Center's persistence and unrelenting drive to continually rise to the level of service demands necessary to keep pace with this horrible disease until it has been eradicated.
Building Facilities Maintenance Campaign
The Damien Center is in the middle of populating its Building Facilities Maintenance Campaign, a pool of monies that will allow the Center an opportunity to supplement the costs associated with owning a new building. The Center needs to raise a minimum of $250,000 for this Fund. This is the first time in its 20 year history of operation that the Center actually owns a building to further service its mission for the central Indiana community.
Fund the Face of HIV/AIDS
Born from the capital campaign are several general operations-related Funds. The Center created a comprehensive campaign strategy in 2005, one that not only accomplished the purchase and renovation of a new building; but also a plan to assist in the creation of Funds that would support the Center's new community care service model.
The Efroymson Client Services Assurance Fund
The Center's Client Services Assurance Fund, born from the Center's recent capital campaign efforts, was started by the financial generosity of the Efroymson Fund. This restricted and board monitored Fund allows Damien Center programs to be safeguarded against future potential Federal, Indiana State, and Marion County budget cuts. If this occurs, money will be used from this Fund to supplement the associated costs, so that programs can continue for our community and our clients uninterrupted. Though the initial goal of $250,000 has been reached, the Damien Center is still in need of growing this Fund.
Fortune-Blakley Client Enrichment Center
This Center, started by Mr. William Fortune, Jr. and Mr. Joseph Blakley, was established to offer client support groups and other related activities (i.e. computer training seminars, resume writing workshops, nutritional courses, aerobics classes, etc.) dedicted to the overall enrichment and futher advancement of the Center's clients.
Joseph F. Miller Testing and Prevention Center
This Center, started by Mr. Joseph F. Miller, was established to enhance the testing, prevention, outreach, and counseling efforts of the Damien Center. Currently, the Center conducts roughly 1,200 tests and privdes counseling services for roughly 100 clients each year.
Fund the Future
Though the efforts of Damien Center serve a vital and critical need for the Central Indiana community now, focusing on the future for the sustainability of its mission remains equally critical. As such, Damien Center has created two areas of funding to support the future of its mission: Leave a Legacy Campaign and the Working Capital Campaign.
Leave a Legacy Campaign
The Damien Center has set forth an auspicious goal to create an endowment that will sustain the Center's future general operations activities. The Center intends to house this endowment with the Central Indiana Community Foundation with an initial goal of $500,000.
Working Capital Campaign
The Damien Center is attempting to raise working capital to better assist its efforts in supporting the campaign process. This area of funding is an especially critical (and often overlooked) component of any campaign as it is vital that our services continue within this community.
As such, money raised within the Working Capital Campaign will be used to financially assist the Center with capital campain related expenses.
