Care Coordination
Care Coordination provides specialized case management to anyone living with HIV/AIDS. A staff of highly trained individuals are available to meet with clients at the Damien Center's Arsenal Avenue location, the individual's home or other mutually agreed upon location, as well as various community locations around Indianapolis. Specialized case management for families and children is provided through Riley Hospital for Children on a weekly basis.
Specifically, Our Care Coordinators Provide Assistance with the Following:
- HIV Disease Education for Clients, Families, and Friends
- HIV Prevention Education and Services
- Employment Referrals
- Housing Referrals & Applications
- Food Pantry
- Transportation Assistance
- Legal Services
- Insurance Applications
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Care Referrals
- Medication Management
- Support Group Referrals
- Counseling Referrals

Counseling Services
Counseling services at the Damien Center offer individual, family and group support to people living with HIV/AIDS and those at risk of becoming HIV positive. Licensed comprehensive risk counselors (CRCS) recognize and understand the unique impact that HIV/AIDS can have on individuals, families and the community at large. We seek to engage and link people in mental health and addictions care by providing a sensitive, culturally competent, and supportive approach to the individuals we serve.
Specifically, Our Comprehensive Risk Counselors (CRCS) Provide Assistance With the Following:
- Psychological Problems as a Result of HIV Medication
- Drug Addiction
- Alcohol Addiction
- A Previous History of Mental Illness
Support Groups Currently Offered y Support Group
Tuesday Morning Support Group: This group is open to all HIV+ men regardless of sexual orientation. It meets on Tuesday mornings from 11am-12:30pm at the Damien Center. The goal of this group therapy is to create an environment for members to receive support and foster a sense of community.nStaff member, David Moman will be running these sessions.ingppor
Wednesday Evening Support Group: This support group is open to all gay men living with HIV/AIDS. The group meets from 6-7:30 each Wednesday at the Damien Center and the purpose of the group is to offer social support and foster a sense of community. Brian Fisher will be the group facilitator for this group.
