Much of the work we do at Damien Center is supported by the 340B Drug Pricing Program, a federal law funded by pharmaceutical companies that provides medications at discounted rates to community health centers like ours. The savings we receive from 340B allow us to invest in the various support services we offer our clients. In addition, because of 340B, 85% of Damien Center patients pay nothing for their prescriptions, while the rest pay very little.

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, recently announced its plan to claim 340B revenue. That means the revenue from the 340B program would go to the state, rather than to organizations like Damien Center, which serve everyone who walks through their doors, regardless of their ability to pay.

Please reach out to your legislators and ask them to exempt FQHCs and other covered entities from FSSA's proposed 340B changes by amending Senate Bill 4.
