Alan joined Damien Center as the President & CEO in 2018 and possesses more than twenty years of experience working to improve health and social inequities with low-income populations. With a wealth of experience in HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+ needs, housing, and nonprofit leadership, Alan has a unique understanding of community needs and how to meet them.

Since joining the Damien Center, Alan has overseen the expansion of multiple programs, including expanded medical care, Damien Pharmacy, harm reduction services, youth homelessness programs, and the expansion of our prevention strategies. Alan tries to embody servant leadership philosophies and seeks to empower those around him. He is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.

Alan started as a volunteer at Damien Center in the 1990s, and later became a full-time employee. He eventually moved to California for several years. Prior to Damien Center this time, he served as the Executive Director for the Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (CHIP) of Greater Indianapolis, worked for United Way of Central Indiana, and was the CEO of AIDS Services Foundation Orange County.

In his free time, you can find Alan hiking, attending music concerts and festivals, or just spending quality time with his daughter.
