Benjamin Snyder
Benjamin joined Damien Center in 2023 with over a decade of experience leading marketing teams in the Indianapolis not-for-profit sector. He provides strategic leadership in the organization’s external communications and building and developing strong relationships with our donors. He has worked with Central Indiana Community Foundation, Indiana Repertory Theatre and Phoenix Theatre all supporting mission-driven storytelling and the organization's fundraising efforts.
One of the first—and most pivotable moments—of Benjamin’s time in Indianapolis was almost 20 years ago volunteering backstage at Spotlight Indy benefiting the Indiana AIDS Fund. From those early years, he has sought out opportunities to better engage and support his community in ways that celebrate joy and the beauty of diversity. Working at Damien Center in a role that connects people with opportunities to support its work is in his words—“a thick slice of heaven.”
Benjamin has participated in the Anti-Defamation League’s Glass Leadership Institute and lobbied for LGBTQ+ rights in DC. He has also completed trainings and leadership development with ADVISA, Leadership Indianapolis, Child Advocates, and Racial Equity Institute.
In his downtime, Benjamin enjoys walking in his downtown neighborhood with his husband and daughter, hiking, traveling, working out, singing showtunes, and cooking meals for family and friends.
