Juan Carlos Venis
Dr. Juan Carlos Venis is a board-certified family physician who is passionate about public health, medical education and providing evidence-based and patient-centered primary care. He is excited to be a part of Damien Center’s continued growth.
He is fluent in Spanish and is particularly experienced in providing care for patients who identify as LGBTQ+ including extensive experience with gender-affirming care and caring for patients living with HIV.
He completed his BA in 2009 at Wabash College and his MD and MPH degrees in 2014 at Indiana University School of Medicine and Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, respectively. He is board certified as a Family Physician and completed his residency training in 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. Dr. Venis is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Family Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and is involved in state and national professional societies.
In his free time, Dr. Venis enjoys time with his partner and their dogs, as well as traveling, being outdoors, music, eating good food, playing kickball, and hitting the gym.
