She/HerMekissa was introduced to community service at an early age in Pickens, Mississippi. It was those life teachings and experiences that contributed to pursuing a career in social services. Mekissa has been in social services since 2005 working with low-income families in need of state and federal benefits, nursing home Medicaid, individuals with disabilities, and child welfare. I am elated to be a part of the Damien family and look forward growing individually as well as collectively.
She is an undergraduate of Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi and grad graduate from Indiana Wesleyan University.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at various community events.
