Through PrEP, education, harm reduction, outreach, and PrEP, we can reduce the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections and improve the health of our community.
PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) is an FDA-approved, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-recommended daily prevention pill for HIV-negative people who are especially vulnerable to getting HIV. Taken daily, PrEP is up to 99% effective at preventing HIV. Many people who take PrEP report they experience peace of mind while having sex. That peace of mind brings relief from the intense fear — and stigma — of HIV that has characterized our sexual lives for far too long. PrEP users also report feeling safer in their relationships and more in control regarding their sexual health and wellness.
Damien Center offers PrEP either with in-person appointments or via telemedicine with TelePrEP.
Think Twice is a 30-minute risk reduction session that uses a short graphic novel to help explain the importance of HIV testing and safer sex practices for the Black MSM community. Complete the session and receive a $30 gift card!
We are excited to partner with the Never Alone Project to better reach those who are engaged in active substance use. Harm Reduction focuses on providing resources to reduce risk when it comes to various types of substance use.
