Each month, our team will publish monthly updates here on Damien.org to highlight upcoming services and things of note for Damien Center programming.

Upcoming Youth Programming

Youth Job Ready Indy: Damien Center is a host for Job Ready Indy. Job Ready Indy is a program for youth in the city (16-24) to learn more about skills needed in the workplace and be connected to a network to help find jobs in the city.

We will be hosting classes on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from 11:00a - 2:00p and on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 11:00a - 2:00p. If you are a youth that is interested or if you have a youth who would be interested in joining us, please e-mail Annie Nelson ([email protected]).

Upcoming Support Groups

Our support groups are designed to offer a network of support and to provide a safe space for individuals to thrive. To view our support groups on the events calendar, click here!

Trans and Non-Binary Support Group: The Trans and Non-Binary Support group has been changed to Thursday nights! It will be held every other Thursday from 6:00p - 7:30p. The group will be held in the Damien Center Board Room. If you are Trans and/or Non-Binary and looking for a group to come and talk about everyday life, barriers, or struggles, this group is perfect for you. Women's Support Group: Starting on May 5th, Damien Center will be hosting a Women's Group. The group will be held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 11:00a - 12:00p. The moderators for the Women's Support group are Annie Nelson, Andria McHugh, and Ashley Renner. It is an open group to all women as a safe space to come and talk about everyday struggles and open up about what is happening in their lives alongside other women. Pregnant and Parenting Support Group: The Pregnant and Parenting Support Group is open to all who are pregnant and/or parenting. The group is designed to be a space for those expecting or currently parents to come and talk about everyday life struggles and to work through the struggles together. The group will be moderated by Jaime Reynolds and Stardust Adita. Those interested in joining the group can sign-up here or send an e-mail to Jaime Reynolds ([email protected]).

Upcoming Employment Services Programming

Damien Center is now hosting employment services workshops! Our workshops are being taught virtually on the second and third week of every month. Each workshop has two different sessions to sign up for. Tuesday's session is from 9a-11a and Wednesday's session is from 1p-3p.

The workshop descriptions are below:

Introduction to LinkedIn (every other month): Clients will learn how to navigate the basics of LinkedIn such as setting up a profile (essentially your online resume), creating a network, and more.

Resume/Cover Letter (every month): Clients will learn how to create/build their resumes and cover letters.

Interview Do's and Don'ts(every other month): Clients will learn tips and tricks to feeling successful in a job interview.

These workshops are open to Damien Center clients, clients of other ASOs, plus members of the LGBTQ+ community. The links to sign up for these workshops are on the Damien Center calendar.
