The Damien Center and MSD Warren Township are partnering to offer Adult and Continuing Education classes at the Damien Center located at 26 N. Arsenal Ave., Indianapolis. Classes are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Through the partnership, Damien Center is offering English language, high school equivalency, and career training classes to all members of the community. Classes are FREE and a $30 technology fee will be waived. Registrants will be required to show a government-issued identification card during their first class.

“More of our clients are living healthy and longer lives, and there is a need to focus on areas that increase life stability and improve economic situations,” said Alan Witchey, president and CEO at Damien Center. “Many of our clients come to us in crisis when they need food, housing, mental health, or other basic needs. We do a great job creating that stability at a time when they need it the most, but we also want to offer the next step for that client by offering pathways that increase their income and economic mobility.”

Adult Basic Education is a learning program to help adults refresh and improve academic skills needed to prepare for college, enroll in career training, help children with homework, prepare for the High School Equivalency (HSE) test, or review content before entering the workforce. Classes are open to all adults, regardless of academic level.

Members of the community interested in registering for Adult Basic Education classes can contact Robin Thompson at [email protected] or 317.632.0123 x154.
