Your Impact.

Thank you for your incredible generosity during these challenging times. Below are just a few of the ways that gifts like yours have kept the Damien Center’s services accessible to clients.

Food Pantry

Your donations kept the food pantry open as it transitioned from its normal operations to a model that is safe and sustainable during the pandemic. Your gifts supported foodstuffs and grocery store gift cards, Lysol and sanitation supplies, masks for staff and clients, and food deliveries for clients who are completely shut in.

Housing

You have helped provide safe and secure hotel rooms for nearly 40 HIV+ people and members of the LGBTQ+ community who were unhoused and staying in shelters when COVID-19 reached Indiana. This makes it possible not only for them to shelter in place, but also to have reliable access to food, medicine, and other Damien Center services.

Mental Health & Clinic

Both the Damien Cares medical clinic and Damien Center mental health services have moved to telehealth for the safety of clients and community. Gifts from donors helped to ensure a timely and smooth transition, continuing free or low cost services even amid uncertainty about whether remote physical and mental health programs would be covered by insurance.

Stronger Together

While the community's gifts are valued at thousands of dollars, the security they provide to our clients and to the whole Damien family—the knowledge that we will pitch in to get through a crisis—is perhaps worth even more!
