Launching February 2021
With the launch of this program, we hope clients will feel empowered to access the resources they need to gain steady employment. This program consists of workshops, referrals to employment opportunities, open computer time for job searching (coming soon), assistance with applications, and more.
Our Employment Services are open to all clients of Central Indiana ASOs or members of the LGBTQ+ community!
Workshops
Beginning on February 16th from 9am to 11am, the Damien Center will be hosting our first employment workshop! This workshop will cover the basics of Writing Resume and Cover Letters. To sign-up, click here!
Damien Center volunteers will provide clients with support whether they're starting from scratch or updating existing resumes and cover letters. On February 17th from 1pm to 3pm, we will continue with an afternoon session of resume and cover letter writing.
In addition, the Damien Center will be hosting an Introduction to LinkedIn workshop, where clients will learn how to navigate this social media platform by creating a profile, understanding how to network, and build your “online resume.” A third workshop will be Interview Do’s and Don’ts/Mock Interviews, where clients will learn tips and tricks of successful interviews and then demonstrate those skills through mock interviews. Dates for these workshops will be announced soon. Other workshops are in the works, so stay tuned!

Additional Services
In addition to our workshops, the Damien Center’s Employment Services Program will be providing direct referrals to job opportunities for our clients. With this opportunity, we hope to eliminate barriers that clients face when seeking out employment. Positions will vary, but we are excited to bring this opportunity to our program.
In the future when we're able to meet in-person, we will offer opportunities to access computers for job searching and time to work one-on-one with employment volunteers outside of workshops.
Our goal is to empower our clients to feel professional and confident when they walk into an interview. Additionally, we will be providing direct referrals to Dress for Success and Success Wear, both non-profit organizations that provide people with free professional attire and workshops!
