Services
Holiday Assistance
The holidays are just around the corner and the Damien Center is here to assist any clients in need. During the months of November and December, Damien Center works with outside organizations to ensure that clients receive holiday food boxes and holiday gifts for both individuals and families. Holiday Assistance is not guaranteed and is based on the assistance Damien receives from community partners. For clients in need of assistance, they can contact their Care Team to fill out an application. The deadline is November 15th for December assistance.
Holiday Food Pantry Hours
Clients who utilize the food pantry at the Damien Center should note that access weeks will be shortened during the months of November and December. For the months of November and December, the pantry will be closed during the last two weeks of each month. Regular access weeks will resume in January 2022. For clients who have questions about their food pantry access or for a list of additional communities, they should reach out to their care teams.
Hep-C Program
Thanks to recent medical advancements, individuals living with Hepatitis C can be cured of the disease. Our Health Navigator can help individuals get connected to health insurance and other resources that will make their treatment as easy as possible. For most individuals, Health Navigation and medical services can be provided at The Damien Center under one roof.
For any clients that are interested in Hep-C programming, they can contact our Health Navigator, Rai Caraballo at ([email protected]).
Housing Equity Committee
Damien Center will be starting a Housing Equity Committee on October 15, 2021. The committee will be comprised of Damien Center staff, clients, and landlords to build bridges with the community regarding housing equity. The committee meetings will be held onsite in the Damien Center board room quarterly at 11:00 am and refreshments will be provided. For any clients who are interested in attending Housing Equity Committee meetings, they should reach out to Evren Elliott at ([email protected]).

During this time your care coordination or a member of our insurance team may be reaching out to you for updated documentation. It is important you get these documents to them quickly in order for our team to have enough time to process the application.
If you have no current issues with your insurance coverage, you will be auto enrolled in your current plan and should not have to do anything during this time.
Please contact your care coordinator or a member of our Insurance team if you would like to learn more about your coverage or see if you qualify for more comprehensive insurance!
